About us

Our research is mainly focused on different aspects of RNA metabolism. We are studying different mechanisms: splicing, miRNA biogenesis, pre-mRNA 3’end processing. The analyses are mostly performed on plants, especially on model organism – Arabidopsis thaliana along with crop plants like potato and barley. In crop plants we’re intensively focusing on molecular responses of the plants on the abiotic stresses with strong emphasis on water deficiency stress. We are also interested in plant evolution research using liverworts Pellia endiviifolia and Marchantia polymorpha, representatives of the oldest living land plants. Part of our scientific interest concerns regulation of gene expression by U7 snRNP and FUS/TLS in human cells.
